On-site analysis of the current situation
- We check access to the chimney (roof, suspended ceilings and basement)
- Check the tightness and dimensions of the connection to the fireplace
- Inspection of the shaft for cracks and residues
- Measurements of the draught and pressure conditions to ensure optimum air flows
- Assessing the fire clearances and the composition of the building materials
- Estimation of cross-section and orifice height, taking into account the desired heat output
- Checking the exhaust system and the connected systems and filters
Fire protection that works
Fire and thermal insulation
- The pipes are clad with certified, non-combustible insulation boards.
- In the case of combustible walls, a facing wall at least 12 cm thick is required.
- The chimney itself is installed with matt stainless steel pipes that are professionally insulated and laid with sufficient clearance (e.g. 20 cm to the ceiling, 30 cm to the sides).
- Fire protection panels in front of the fireplace opening (at least 40 cm wide) and a fireproof base are required.

Maintenance & Service
To ensure the operational safety of your flue gas system, we work with our partners to organise regular maintenance and inspection intervals. Our service includes check-ups, cleaning, replacement of sealing elements and the creation of inspection reports. This ensures that your fireplace retains its value for many years and avoids the need for fireplace repairs. Standards and legal requirements in Switzerland
Strict Swiss norms and technical standards apply to fireplace construction and renovation. These include specific regulations for dimensions, fire protection, materials and emissions.

Key regulations & requirements
- Compliance of all VKF fire protection requirements. The nationally applicable regulations on the safety of combustion systems also include chimney cowls and distance regulations.
- The EN 1856-1 standard for metal chimney systems specifies requirements for all single and double-walled stainless steel chimneys. It applies to diameters up to 1200 mm and guarantees the safety and quality of modern chimney products
